The Borda International Tintori Team (B.I.T.T.) during its last team presentation in Brussels was glad to announce that its athletes are ready for the big race, the Brussels 20 Km. At this occasion the uniforms were presented to the public.
What’s appealing about the Brussels 20 Km is the spirit of international cooperation and its pure spectacle. And part of that spectacle is the athletes’ uniforms. On Sunday, when the world’s best athletes gather in Cinquantenaire, uniforms will play indeed an important role from the beginning to the end of the race, and someone hopes even afterwards.
‘’A successful athletic uniform must be functional while making its wearer feel confident and comfortable’’ the words of BITT designer Estrella De Carrinho-Ney, who collaborated with our sponsor "Cafè Portugal - Bruxelas", the team's favourite restaurant in town, where, as per tradition ’après la race’, athletes meet friends, fans and families for the deserved refreshments.
Estrella De Carrinho-Ney gave her designs a flashy presentation at the "Tour et Taxis". A video from Channel Figliedun7 showed an athlete dressed in the team’s uniform rising from a platform on a treadmill, matched with the music of Vangelis, Chariots of Fire. A background of flashing lights completed the thrilling spectacle. Later in the presentation the poem reading by Mr Bill who invoked the blessing of Swami Mr Francesco.
"Run not for yourselves, nor even for each other, and certainly not for me.
No, you should run the race because you jolly well can,
and besides, we'll probably meet up afterwards
in the Portuguese Cafe on Courone to eat lots of sliced roast pork
and drink loads of beer."
