Fourth participation in a row for BITT in the Amsterdam Half Marathon.
Over 30.000 runners covered both Classic and Half distances of this 2013 edition, looking forward to the epic finish in the Olympic Stadium of the dutch capital. The stadium hosted the 1928 Olympic Games and was declared national monument in 1987. The structure will also host the 2016 European Athletics Championships, for which BITT already qualified dozens of talented athletes.
Guillermo, Kostas and Francesco started running at the central train station, motivated by the particularly fast journey from Brussels that allowed them to arrive 2 milliseconds before the official start.
Weather changed a hundred times at least, starting ad ending up the race with wind and light rain.
Here's the picture of the final moments in a stadium full of runners and frozen spectators.
Have you seen this guy? We didn't. Mr Chebet from Kenya was too fast to be true as he broke the record of the race winning in 2h05'40, only two minutes "slower" than the world record.
Few hours later our beloved runners successfully crossed the finish line!
They were then received by President and Vice-President of the NDRA (Nostalgic Disguised Runners Association), also known as "Once Upon A Time", for a drinktime debate on "How beer consumption preserves from premature aging"
Cheers to Guillermo, Kostas and Francesco !!!
