"Glade" offers USD 100.000.000 as sponsorship for the BITT

One week before the deadline to register the team, it looks almost impossible to know the number of athletes who will run with the Borda International Tintori Team.

"Please wait, enjoy St Patrick day, recover and next Saturday you will finally know the number of our athletes, their names and nationalities. You will find out the reasons why we are betting on them for this year" the spokesperson of the BITT General Manager said to the press. The spokesperson has also announced a big ceremony to release the team which will run next Brussels 20km on Sunday 27 May 2012.

Nevertheless, "at least 15 persons" had been heard on the grapevine last nigh in Place Luxembourg. The source?"Insiders, people closed to the Board" they say.

Immediately after this rumour, several companies had announced their will to sponsor the team. The Board of the BITT had received several offers. The most interesting at the moment seems to be the one proposed by Glade Inc.

100.000.000 USD had been proposed and the commercial finilised in Island.

Glade CEO Bob Rock Siffred says the company’s worldwide BITT sponsorship is a commercial innovation that enables better product sales. Speaking at the Blow School of Business at Job Mellon University, he outlined Glade's worldwide partnership, which would extend through 2020 and includes multiple brands.

“The reason that we’re doing this is that there’s a tremendous intersection between Borda International Tintori Team, who are trying to improve lives through sport, and what we’re trying to do, which is improve lives through our brands,” Siffred said. "This is terrific!" he added.

Athletes would be ambassadors for different Glade's brands, an initiative that will start with the Brussels 20km in May.

“We will discover that this is a good way to get in touch with our consumers,” he added.

Mr Kostas as representative of the BITT and of the consumers replied: "Malaka, only when I will see the papers I will start fighting. Relax, please. Malaka, it's Friday morning and I am having an argument with my colleague Hang Over. We do not know anything about this sponsorship!"

Mr Milano added "Mute, I am. I do not know nothing! As Mr Kostas said, also for me paper sings! are you deaf Manolo?"
