Stockholm Marathon - 1 June 2013

Stockholm City Marathon is one of the "not-to-be-missed" races in Northern Europe.

Back in November 1978, an article about NYC Marathon appeared on Sports Illustrated illuminated the mind of a sport journalist, Andres Olsson, who actually put into practice the dream of many of the runners of the time, organizing and inagurating the first edition of Stockholm Marathon on Aug 4 1979, with 2000 participants and a great, unexpected media coverage.

 

 

Brussels 20k - 26 May 2013 - The edition of the records!

 

 

For the 5th time in a row Borda International Tintori Team registered to Brussels 20k, the biggest event of the year in town. So many adventures and sooo many (fake) gold medals have been conquered in these years.

 

This 2013 edition was particularly interesting given the record of participants (almost 38.000 !!) and the extraordinary weather conditions (guys, no summer...6° at the start with a beautiful grey sky and cold, arctic breeze).

Stra-Bologna is a classic run over the centre of one of nicest historical cities in Italy and Pietro chose this venue for his legendary baptism in the name of Borda. Below the detailed report of a heartbreaking experience.

The Flanders Campaign - 2013 Edition

 

21.04.2013 - Antwerp 10 Miles

 

Memories from last year were still fresh and limpid.

The route of the 10 Miles is tricky, with tunnels and slight uphills all across the distance, and as a cherry on top of the cake, the famous Waaslandtunnel, a heartbreaking neverending 2km tunnel magically appearing in front of the runner when only 2.3 km are left to the end.

 

B.I.T.T.'s first, double mission to Norway!!!

B.I.T.Team is glad to announce the accomplishment of its first, challenging double mission to Norway.

Two athletes took part in this adventure. In chronological order:

1. Oslo - 10km - 27 April

For many many years Mr Thomas has been following and admiring our performances, eager to finally participate and give his contribution to Borda cause. The time has come Mr Nortvedt!

The Nortvedt family was there to support the cause and share of course the suffering of a fast race.

Cheers to the 3 of them! It is now official: a delegation of the Team will be present in Oslo in September to run the Marathon/Half marathon!

Two B.I.T.T. gladiators at the Rome Marathon - 17 March 2013

17 March 2013.
It's understood that Marathon of Rome is not only about running the classic distance (42.195 m).
The route here is a special flash-back over thousands of years of history: starting from the breath-taking Imperial Forums, the run develops along the old town centre offering a special path to its participants, who could (could, if the oxygen still flows) admire lots of the Roman historic monumental beauties, from piazza Venezia to piazza Cavour, passing by Circo Massimo and near Basilica di San Pietro. After a tract along the Tevere river, the run re-emerges in the inner city and gets back for the final kms to the Colosseum, as a natural finish lane after quite a few hours of pain.

Barcelona Half Marathon 2013 - A family accomplishment

17.02.2013 - The Borda season has finally started with the classic Half marathon (Mitja Marato') in Barcelona. Further to a scrupulous preparation based on sunbathing, patatas bravas and intensive dancing sessions at Tequila Rock Bar, this year Murcia Nicolas family took over the Bordarelay and happily represented B.I.T.T. over a 21km adventure in the streets of Barça.

A SPECIAL TALE FROM OLYMPIA

Two days have passed since my first marathon and I am trying to recall the moments of this unique experience. I remember the doubts in the bus at 05.30 transferring us to Marathon: I knew I was not ready and I was afraid of my injured leg. I remember the feeling when the Olympic flame arrived in Marathon and the moment when we all had to repeat the Olympic oath. I remember looking around the other runners coming from all over the world..

Amsterdam Half Marathon - 21 October 2012

This month of October has been full of commitments. Our stress resistant heroes faced the last challenge of the month with the usual grit.

Amsterdam Half Marathon was scheduled at 13.30 of a grey, windy, unusually cold Sunday.

At that moment full marathon runners were supposed to accomplish their goals, leaving the stage to about 10.000 participants.

On the early Intercity train to Amsterdam our B.I.T.T. delegation, formed by Mr Kostas, Mr Marco, Mr Doug and Mr Francesco, met 2 representatives of the Flanders' Athletics Association, for a brief meeting on antidoping and the measures to be taken to fight against bad practices in sports.

Brussels Acerta Ekiden Relay a.k.a. "2 Teams are better than 1"

Brussels Acerta Ekiden Relay is the biggest relay marathon in the world. In 2012 over 1300 teams composed by 6 runners each have registered.

The term "Ekiden" has japanese origins, and originally referred to a post-horse or stagecoach which transmitted communication by stages. The first ekiden race was sponsored by the Yiomiuri Shimbun in 1917, and was run over three days between the old Japanese capital of Kyoto and the modern capital of Tokio, a distance of 508 km, to celebrate the anniversary of the moving of the capital to Tokio.

6am. Mr Lucas wakes up after his long long sleep. He knows at the end of the day he'll be (hopefully..) a brand new person. A machine. A Spartan warrior.

Brussels 20K - 27 May 2012 - The Judgement Day

7 o'clock in the morning. The alarm started yelling.. no mercy for our heroes, on a sunny Sunday morning. In another occasion they would be sleeping like babies, numb but happy.
But not today. Something was happening out there, over 35.000 people were about to meet at the famous Parc du Cinquantenaire, for the run of the year.

BITT presents new uniforms and its sponsor

The Borda International Tintori Team (B.I.T.T.) during its last team presentation in Brussels was glad to announce that its athletes are ready for the big race, the Brussels 20 Km. At this occasion the uniforms were presented to the public.

Dwars door Brugge 14.5k: everything but sightseeing

Great results once again for our athletes, but what are the consequences??

This second day of the Flanders' campaign didn't start that well, as the team found out that the reinforces from the northern border were stopped in Breda. Ms Yvonne's attendance was in fact stopped by unforeseen events.

Ms Camilla, Ms Cristina, Mr Francesco, Mr Kostas and Mr Umberto. These guys bravely represented B.I.T.T in this first battle of the Flanders' campaign!

After a long warming up, the so called catwalk, suggested by our Lithuanian trainers, the team faced the heroic challenge: be faster than Bart De Wever.

The Doctor who came in from the cold

When you ask him "How is your race season?", he will answer: "Critical, but stable. How about yourself?"

Member of the Borda International Tintori Team since its foundation, with his unique philosophy he ran several races in solo.

His obsession:  Tuscan ambulances.

His favourite word: toothpaste.

He loves the smell of German airports in the morning as the smell of Norwegian naprapaths in the afternoon.

His name is Doctor Eric, Swedish nationality, Mediterranean blood.

BITT presents the Team - Hyderabad - India - 31/03/12

Guest star Manolo Elvis Shiva opened the BITT Gran Galà in Hyderabad last Saturday night.
50.000 spectators welcomed the official presentation of Borda International Tintori Team, in view of the upcoming Brussels 20km on the 27th of May.
