Brussels 20k - 2015 edition with EMERGENCY Belgium !!!

BordaInternational TintoriTeam will run the Brussels 20k 2015 edition in support of EMERGENCY Belgium, an independent NGO providing free, high quality medical and surgical treatment to the victims of war, landmines and poverty. EMERGENCY is present in difficult contexts like Afghanistan, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Central African Republic, Iraq ...and promotes a culture of peace, solidarity and respect for human rights. Deejay10 - Florence, Italy - 18-05-2014

DEEJAY-10 has become a running classic, being organised by the most followed and important Radio Station in Italy, RadioDeejay.it. Every year thousands of people invade the streets of Florence (in spring) and Milan (in automn) to run a 5 or 10km over a whole day of fun and entertainment: about 12.000 people participated in this 2014 edition in Florence (in the first pic here below you may notice the huge purple wave at the start).

DEEJAY-10 è il classico appuntamento organizzato dalla Radio più seguita e più importante in Italia, Radio Deejay. Ogni anno migliaia di persone invadono le strade di Firenze (in primavera) e Milano (in autunno) per correre 5 o 10km in un'atmosfera di grande divertimento ed intrattenimento: in questa edizione fiorentina i partecipanti sono stati circa 12.000 (nella prima foto l'ondata viola alla partenza).

A good cause for the upcoming Brussels 20k - B.I.T.T. supports LigueCARDIOLiga !!!

On the occasion of the Brussels 20k - 2014 edition, with about 40.000 participants on starting blocks, B.I.T.T. will run for a good cause.
We'll support "Ligue Cardio Liga", the Belgian association playing an important role on the prevention and reduction of cardiovascular and heart-related diseases, also member of the European Heart Network (http://liguecardioliga.be/).

Our official t-shirts will have the big heart of the association on their left sleeves, as we intend to raise awareness on this crucial campaign for everyone's well-being.

26-27 April 2014 - B.I.T.T. runs in Belgium, Norway and Spain !!

On 26-27 April B.I.T.T. invaded european roads being present contemporarily in 3 races held in Belgium, Norway and Spain!

In chronological order, Thomas performed for his second time in the Oslo Sentrumsløpet 10k 2014, all across Oslo city center.

Paris Marathon - 6 April 2014

On 6 April, B.I.T.T. had a date with Paris Marathon. The two Borda representatives, Kostas and Juan, put the flag high on the Eiffel Tower and opened the champagne at the Champs Elysees.

This is one of the most important marathons in Europe together with Rome, Berlin and London.

The BordAdventures of Barbara and Roby - first runs of 2014 in Italy !!

This post is to celebrate the many many adventures already performed for BITT in Italy by Barbara and Roby since they received last year the official Borda t-shirt.
They both live in beautiful Tuscany, precisely Torre del Lago, by the coast near Viareggio and Pisa, where Mr Giacomo Puccini used to find his solitude and inspiration for composing masterpieces of the opera.

Rendez-vous with Olympia was set on 10 November 2013
Borda crew participated with 13 members between runners, supporters and chief helpers.

Only Greek Gods know what really happened in Athens that mystic week-end.
Here are few lines we received from an unknown ancient messenger sent to us.
He arrived exhausted, poor guy, we had to feed him with fries and beers.

Amsterdam Half Marathon 2013

Fourth participation in a row for BITT in the Amsterdam Half Marathon.

Over 30.000 runners covered both Classic and Half distances of this 2013 edition, looking forward to the epic finish in the Olympic Stadium of the dutch capital. The stadium hosted the 1928 Olympic Games and was declared national monument in 1987. The structure will also host the 2016 European Athletics Championships, for which BITT already qualified dozens of talented athletes.

 

Guillermo, Kostas and Francesco started running at the central train station, motivated by the particularly fast journey from Brussels that allowed them to arrive 2 milliseconds before the official start. 

Brussels Ekiden Relay 2013 - The Dream Team is back!

Second participation in a row for the team in the Brussels Acerta Ekiden Relay, the biggest relay race in the world. Almost 2000 teams of 6 runners took part in this 2013 edition.

Meeting point was set at 12.00 in an incredibly sunny day at Roi Baudoin Stadium.

Brussels Marathon - Half Marathon 2013: we can do both!

Borda Team registered for both Marathon and Half Marathon in Brussels.

For Doug it was the very first time with the classic distance. The race started at 9 and ended for him after 4h38 minutes. After surviving the biggest challenge, Doug, while sipping a cold cold hectoliter of beer laying on his couch, firmly stated:

'The course is spectacular, both pretty and tough. I actually enjoyed the first half, but it's at the 20km mark that the real race starts. I'd been doing a good pace until 30km but at this point my legs started to go and the last 12km is hilly. Next time I'll choose a flatter course'.

Antwerp Night Race 2013 - Chapter III

13 September 2013 - Antwerp.
Third participation in a row for B.I.T.T. in the Energizer Night Race!
This event has become a classic of the rentrée after the summer holidays. Rentrée in Belgium has a special meaning though, actually somthing like "forget about summer and get straight back to reality, doesn't matter if today is the 25th August".
With this spirit and terrible weather forecast for the upcoming evening our athletes boarded in the train to Antwerp.

Here's BITT line-up in this 2013 edition:

1. Angeliki - Bronze Medal last year in women's ranking, despite the non perfect physical conditions she wanted to be there and defend the unforgettable performance of 2012.
2. Guillermo and 3. Kostas - respectively 2nd and 3rd edition for them.

Stockholm Marathon - 1 June 2013

Stockholm City Marathon is one of the "not-to-be-missed" races in Northern Europe.

Back in November 1978, an article about NYC Marathon appeared on Sports Illustrated illuminated the mind of a sport journalist, Andres Olsson, who actually put into practice the dream of many of the runners of the time, organizing and inagurating the first edition of Stockholm Marathon on Aug 4 1979, with 2000 participants and a great, unexpected media coverage.

 

 

Brussels 20k - 26 May 2013 - The edition of the records!

 

 

For the 5th time in a row Borda International Tintori Team registered to Brussels 20k, the biggest event of the year in town. So many adventures and sooo many (fake) gold medals have been conquered in these years.

 

This 2013 edition was particularly interesting given the record of participants (almost 38.000 !!) and the extraordinary weather conditions (guys, no summer...6° at the start with a beautiful grey sky and cold, arctic breeze).

Stra-Bologna is a classic run over the centre of one of nicest historical cities in Italy and Pietro chose this venue for his legendary baptism in the name of Borda. Below the detailed report of a heartbreaking experience.

The Flanders Campaign - 2013 Edition

 

21.04.2013 - Antwerp 10 Miles

 

Memories from last year were still fresh and limpid.

The route of the 10 Miles is tricky, with tunnels and slight uphills all across the distance, and as a cherry on top of the cake, the famous Waaslandtunnel, a heartbreaking neverending 2km tunnel magically appearing in front of the runner when only 2.3 km are left to the end.

 

B.I.T.T.'s first, double mission to Norway!!!

B.I.T.Team is glad to announce the accomplishment of its first, challenging double mission to Norway.

Two athletes took part in this adventure. In chronological order:

1. Oslo - 10km - 27 April

For many many years Mr Thomas has been following and admiring our performances, eager to finally participate and give his contribution to Borda cause. The time has come Mr Nortvedt!

The Nortvedt family was there to support the cause and share of course the suffering of a fast race.

Cheers to the 3 of them! It is now official: a delegation of the Team will be present in Oslo in September to run the Marathon/Half marathon!

Two B.I.T.T. gladiators at the Rome Marathon - 17 March 2013

17 March 2013.
It's understood that Marathon of Rome is not only about running the classic distance (42.195 m).
The route here is a special flash-back over thousands of years of history: starting from the breath-taking Imperial Forums, the run develops along the old town centre offering a special path to its participants, who could (could, if the oxygen still flows) admire lots of the Roman historic monumental beauties, from piazza Venezia to piazza Cavour, passing by Circo Massimo and near Basilica di San Pietro. After a tract along the Tevere river, the run re-emerges in the inner city and gets back for the final kms to the Colosseum, as a natural finish lane after quite a few hours of pain.

Barcelona Half Marathon 2013 - A family accomplishment

17.02.2013 - The Borda season has finally started with the classic Half marathon (Mitja Marato') in Barcelona. Further to a scrupulous preparation based on sunbathing, patatas bravas and intensive dancing sessions at Tequila Rock Bar, this year Murcia Nicolas family took over the Bordarelay and happily represented B.I.T.T. over a 21km adventure in the streets of Barça.

A SPECIAL TALE FROM OLYMPIA

Two days have passed since my first marathon and I am trying to recall the moments of this unique experience. I remember the doubts in the bus at 05.30 transferring us to Marathon: I knew I was not ready and I was afraid of my injured leg. I remember the feeling when the Olympic flame arrived in Marathon and the moment when we all had to repeat the Olympic oath. I remember looking around the other runners coming from all over the world..

Amsterdam Half Marathon - 21 October 2012

This month of October has been full of commitments. Our stress resistant heroes faced the last challenge of the month with the usual grit.

Amsterdam Half Marathon was scheduled at 13.30 of a grey, windy, unusually cold Sunday.

At that moment full marathon runners were supposed to accomplish their goals, leaving the stage to about 10.000 participants.

On the early Intercity train to Amsterdam our B.I.T.T. delegation, formed by Mr Kostas, Mr Marco, Mr Doug and Mr Francesco, met 2 representatives of the Flanders' Athletics Association, for a brief meeting on antidoping and the measures to be taken to fight against bad practices in sports.
